Ester Manas x Chantelle: A Bold and Inclusive Lingerie Collaboration

Ester Manas and Balthazar Delepierre, the dynamic duo behind the inclusive fashion label Ester Manas, have been making waves in the French creative scene since 2019. Their designs cater to diverse body shapes and personal styles, and for their Spring/Summer 2025 collection, they’ve joined forces with lingerie powerhouse Chantelle. This collaboration, aptly named Ester Manas x Chantelle X, is a celebration of femininity and audacity, showcasing five exquisite lingerie pieces, two sets, and a body designed for both day and night wear.

The collection features a striking palette of black, allowing each piece to be styled with a myriad of looks and expressing individual style. Vogue caught up with the duo to delve into their vision for this exciting lingerie collaboration.

Vogue:

What would you say is the most powerful look in this Spring/Summer 2025 collection?

Ester Manas & Balthazar Delepierre:

It’s difficult to choose just one! However, our personal favorite is the blue and black ensemble crafted from mesh and tulle. Designed by Balthazar and constructed by Ester, this piece is a masterpiece of layering and texture. It features a voluminous mesh blue skirt with 45 ruffles, a matching dress with over 40 ruffles cascading over the skirt, and a sheer black tulle dress draped over the entire ensemble. The tulle is artfully manipulated, creating a unique and alluring effect. Each dress is distinct, embracing chance and intuition.

Vogue:

What inspired you for this Spring/Summer 2025 collection? What values do you share with Chantelle?

Ester Manas & Balthazar Delepierre:

Our moodboard was filled with a passion for transparency, the human form, and delicate lace. We’re obsessed with the interplay of concealing and revealing, layering, and the deep desire to celebrate all body shapes. These shared values form the core of our collaboration with Chantelle.

Vogue:

Tell us about the pieces you created for this collaboration.

Ester Manas & Balthazar Delepierre:

We designed two sets and a body, drawing inspiration from Chantelle’s expertise and their signature graphic aesthetic. We incorporated our signature smocks and daring cutouts, blending them beautifully with Chantelle’s iconic X-shaped designs and leavers lace. The collection is inherently inclusive, boasting an expanded size range.

Vogue:

What’s your vision for lingerie in 2025?

Ester Manas & Balthazar Delepierre:

Inclusive.

Vogue:

How would you define femininity?

Ester Manas & Balthazar Delepierre:

Sensual, strong, fierce, funny, ‘sexy oops,’ and above all, diverse.

Vogue:

Ester, how would you style the body?

Ester Manas:

I’d wear it as a top, pairing it with a high-waisted black pencil skirt from our collection, a vintage double-breasted navy blue wool blazer by Balthazar with a wide shoulder structure, and transparent Melissa x Y Project mules.

Vogue:

What’s your secret to feeling sexy?

Ester Manas:

A thigh-high slit on a long skirt that reveals a leg and a perfect burgundy red manicure.

Vogue:

What’s your relationship with lingerie?

Ester Manas:

It’s bipolar! Some days, it’s all about comfort: cotton lingerie that’s cozy and almost comforting. Other days, I prefer invisibility: seamless lingerie in black or nude Lycra. And then there are days for the fabulous, the extraordinary, the sensual armor—like an Ester Manas x Chantelle X set!

Vogue:

Is there a lingerie fashion faux pas?

Ester Manas:

In theory, I’d say mismatching your sets, but since I do it constantly, I guess I can’t judge anyone!

Vogue:

What’s your advice for loving yourself and breaking free from societal pressures?

Ester Manas:

Listen to your friends complaining… But seriously, let go.

Vogue:

What do you wear under your clothes for a romantic evening?

Ester Manas:

Nothing! We wear nothing!
