Hawaiian Airlines Expands Free Starlink Wi-Fi to Entire Airbus Fleet

Hawaiian Airlines has taken a significant step in enhancing the travel experience by making free high-speed, low-latency Wi-Fi powered by Starlink available on all of its Airbus-operated flights. This includes routes connecting the Hawaiian Islands with the continental U.S., Asia, and Oceania.

The airline first made headlines in February when it became the pioneer in implementing Starlink on its Airbus A321neo aircraft. Since then, Hawaiian has diligently worked to install Starlink across its entire fleet of 24 A330 aircraft. Passengers can now seamlessly connect to Starlink as soon as they board, enjoying internet access that rivals home-like speeds, enabling them to work, stream videos, and even game without interruption.

Evan Nomura, director of inflight entertainment and connectivity and onboard products at Hawaiian Airlines, expressed his pride in this accomplishment, stating that providing free Starlink to travelers is a remarkable achievement for the team. He highlighted the overwhelmingly positive feedback received from guests who have experienced the airline’s industry-leading connectivity.

Hawaiian Airlines recognized Starlink’s low-Earth orbit satellite constellation, featuring an innovative laser mesh network, as the ideal solution to deliver reliable, high-speed, low-latency connectivity across its global routes. Since incorporating Starlink on its Airbus fleet, Hawaiian has consistently witnessed exceptional performance, with no service interruptions even over the most remote areas of the Pacific Ocean.

Looking to further expand its connectivity offerings, Hawaiian Airlines plans to extend Starlink installation to its flagship Boeing 787-9 fleet. However, the airline has decided against offering this service on its Boeing 717 aircraft, which primarily operate short-haul flights between the islands.
