Nestled in the heart of Portugal, Evora, a city steeped in history and a UNESCO World Heritage site, is preparing to introduce a tourist tax in 2025. This move, driven by the desire to safeguard the city’s ancient treasures and combat the challenges of over-tourism, is a testament to the city’s commitment to its cultural heritage.
The decision to implement a tourist tax was initially proposed in 2019, but the pandemic caused delays.
