The event, part of the United Nations General Assembly, saw Musk publicly praising Meloni’s leadership and character. Meloni, known for her strong support of the European Union and her historic position as Italy’s first female prime minister, thanked Musk for his compliments on her official X account (formerly Twitter).
Social media erupted with comments speculating about a potential romance. Enthusiastic users shared their hopes for the pairing with phrases like “That’s Amore (That’s love)” and “I am totally shipping these two. However, Musk swiftly put an end to the speculation. Responding to a post inquiring about a possible relationship, he stated plainly, “Not dating.” While presenting Meloni with the Atlantic Council Global Citizen Award, Musk expressed his admiration for her, describing her as “authentic, honest, truthful – and that can’t always be said about politicians.” He also added, “It’s an honour to present the accolade to someone who is even more beautiful on the inside than she was on the outside.”
Meloni was honored for her “strong support of the EU and for becoming the first female prime minister of Italy.”
This isn’t the first time social media has paired Musk and Meloni. In December 2022, several posts on X suggested a relationship between the two after Musk accepted Meloni’s invitation to attend a political festival in Rome.
