Ecolab Recognized for Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by The Executive Leadership Council

Ecolab, a global leader in water, hygiene, and infection prevention solutions, is being recognized for its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The Executive Leadership Council (ELC), a prominent organization dedicated to advancing Black leadership, will present Ecolab with the 2024 ELC Corporate Award during their Recognition Gala on October 3, 2024.

The ELC Corporate Award acknowledges companies that demonstrate exceptional partnership, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to DEI principles. Ecolab has been recognized for its extensive efforts in integrating DEI into every facet of its business, from attracting and developing top talent to building relationships with customers and suppliers.

“Ecolab’s dedication to creating a workplace where diversity, equity, and inclusion are not just values but daily practices, sets a powerful example for the corporate world,” stated Michael C. Hyter, president and CEO of The Executive Leadership Council. “Their commitment to fostering an inclusive culture where everyone feels empowered to bring their authentic selves to work has made a lasting impact within their organization and beyond. The ELC is honored to acknowledge Ecolab’s leadership in driving sustainable DEI progress.”

Ecolab’s dedication to DEI is reflected in its aspiration to create a workplace that more closely reflects the communities it serves. The company has set ambitious goals, including maintaining pay equity, expanding diverse applicant pools, and increasing management-level gender and ethnic/racial diversity to mirror the local workforce by 2030. These efforts have garnered significant recognition, with Ecolab being named a Top 50 Company for Diversity by Fair360 (formerly DiversityInc) and receiving the Human Rights Campaign’s “Equality 100 Award” on the Corporate Equality Index for 11 consecutive years.

“For more than 100 years, the people of Ecolab have seen opportunities where others have seen challenges,” said Ecolab Chairman and CEO Christophe Beck. “The ELC has inspired us to create opportunities for our Black talent and promote open dialogue with top leaders across our organization. I hope Ecolab can provide an example for other organizations that business success, innovation, and growth are linked to diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

The 2024 ELC Recognition Gala, themed “Unstoppable Together,” will be the culmination of the ELC Gala Week, the organization’s annual event celebrating the achievements of Black executives and nurturing the next generation of leaders. The event will feature a series of high-profile activities, including the Recognition Gala, which honors individuals and companies for their exceptional leadership and commitment to excellence, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Executive Leadership Council, founded in 1986, comprises over 800 current and former Black CEOs, senior executives, and board directors. The organization is committed to increasing the representation of Black executives in leadership roles across global enterprises.
