Paolla Oliveira Dances the Night Away at Jean Paul Gaultier’s Divine Le Parfum Launch

What better way to kick off Paris Fashion Week than with a party chez Jean Paul Gaultier? On Monday night, the legendary designer’s headquarters in the Marais transformed into a hot spot for fashionistas adorned in their finest attire to celebrate the launch of the maison’s new fragrance, Divine Le Parfum. The most coveted spot of the soirée? The dance floor. To the rhythm of “Hasta la Vista,” a hit by rapper Ghali, Brazilian actress Paolla Oliveira showed everyone what she was made of.

“What a pleasure to be a part of a night like this, with such wonderful diversity, incredible women dressed by the same brand, but each with their own style and personality. And that scent in the air! It’s incredible to be in another culture and still feel like myself. I’m divine!,” shared the actress, who took advantage of her visit to Paris to learn more about perfumes. “I even went to Givaudan [the house responsible for developing the perfume] and had a real lesson [with the creator of Divine Le Parfum, French perfumer Quentin Bisch]. I learned all the details involved in the composition of a perfume: the base, the notes, the olfactory pyramid. We even had a visit to the laboratory. It’s impressive. The creation of a perfume is a mix of science and art,” Paolla reveals. The experience brought back fond childhood memories: “I loved mixing perfumes! I’ve always been fascinated by scents, by their ability to create an identity, to empower you.” What does she appreciate most about Divine Le Parfum? “Jean Paul Gaultier’s fragrances are known for being bold and for not distinguishing between genders. I love that this perfume has a fresh bergamot opening, but soon gains intensity thanks to the bouquet of white flowers and benzoin,” she explains. The fragrance in question contrasts floral and amber notes, cut by a surprising iodized marine accord, like radiant bronzed skin that has just come out of the sea and meets a field of flowers.

If Paris is always a good idea, Paolla took advantage of the trip to stroll around the city. “I sat in cafes, rode a bicycle in the rain… what could be more Parisian?” she jokes. “I love being a tourist. Every time I come, I take the opportunity to discover new corners of Paris.” And more: the agenda includes good company – that of Murilo Lorran and Beto Martine, a Brazilian duo that has become a hit on Instagram, transforming Rua 25 de Março, the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro, and the center of Salvador into catwalk stages. Invited by Jean Paul Gaultier, they will be parading through the streets of Paris. Paolla was excited and decided to join them, but not without first practicing her runway walk. Quickly approved, she took the opportunity to teach them how to wiggle like only she knows how. On the JPG dance floor, she received immediate approval.
