Chamath Palihapitiya’s Surprise Encounter with Donald Trump: ‘Very Funny, Very Kind, Very Polite’

Elon Musk recently sparked conversation on X by highlighting a discussion between Joe Rogan and Chamath Palihapitiya, the renowned venture capitalist often dubbed the ‘SPAC King.’ The conversation focused on the media’s portrayal of Donald Trump and the controversial Charlottesville incident, among other topics. Musk deemed the conversation between Rogan and Palihapitiya as containing ‘good points.’

During the discussion, Palihapitiya expressed his surprise at Trump’s personality, describing him as ‘very funny, very kind, very polite.’ He also voiced his frustration with the media’s misrepresentation of Trump’s comments during the Charlottesville press conference.

‘I met him and spent time with him… Donald Trump. Very funny. Very kind. Very polite. Like, he talks to you… I was expecting something totally different… He’s as good as any comedian,’ said Palihapitiya.

This isn’t the first time Palihapitiya has shared his thoughts on Trump and the political landscape. He previously discussed immigration and how the media portrays Trump in a sit-down interview with Rogan. Palihapitiya believes the winner of the 2024 election will have to address the immigration crisis. He also has a unique perspective on the potential contenders for the 2024 general election, believing the candidate who understands the need for no more wars and zero-based budgeting for the U.S. government will garner significant support.

Interestingly, Palihapitiya has stated he would prefer to vote for JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon as the next U.S. president over Joe Biden, Trump, or anyone else. He has also described his meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris to Rogan, disclosing that he had lunched with the Democratic nominee and that she was ‘very kind, very nice person.’

Palihapitiya’s candid remarks continue to fuel discussion about the upcoming 2024 election and the candidates vying for the presidency. His unexpected perspective on Trump’s personality adds another layer to the complex political landscape.
