Fashion month always reminds me of the oft-repeated phrase, ‘a million girls would kill for this job.’ But not me. My dream career would be Fai Khadra’s: professional man-friend to the Kardashian-Jenners, boasting 2.2 million followers and a permanent front-row seat at Saint Laurent. While no one quite knows what Khadra actually *does* – tablescaping? Shoe-designing? Ascendant Instagram artist? – he’s undeniably adept at being in the right place at the right time.
Khadra was among the select few invited to Rosalía’s 32nd birthday celebration last night at the Hôtel Particulier in Paris. The singer, looking radiant in a full-look Vaquera ensemble, wasn’t presented with a bouquet of calla lilies, reminiscent of the one she gifted Charli xcx in August, but rather a single, delicate rose. This rose, however, had an intriguing backstory: Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, dressed in a romantic deshabille, had carefully transported it from a hotel room through the streets of Montmartre. Jenner wore an almost transparent Alexander McQueen column dress, while Hadid opted for a skirt that seemed to be worn inside-out.
The guest list was a veritable who’s who of the music and fashion world, including Ayra Starr, Anya Taylor-Joy, Amelia Gray, Bad Gyal, Camila Cabello, Hunter Schafer, Irina Shayk, and Willow Smith. Kylie Jenner made a late arrival, looking chic in a leather bandeau and matching flared skirt, arm-in-arm with her own full-time best friend, Anastasia Karanikolaou.
Of course, it helped that most of Rosalía’s peers were in Paris for Fashion Week, but one can’t help but wonder if the singer might also be on the lookout for a professional plus-one. (Consider this, or this, my official resignation application.)
