Devara Dominates Box Office: NTR Jr’s Film Outpaces Stree 2 and Jawan

The Indian box office has witnessed a thrilling battle between three major releases – “Devara”, “Stree 2”, and “Jawan” – all vying for the top spot. But it was NTR Jr’s highly anticipated film, “Devara”, that emerged victorious, captivating audiences with its strong storyline and stellar performances.

“Devara”, directed by the renowned Koratala Siva, marks the comeback of superstar Jr NTR following his Golden Globe and Oscar-winning performance in “RRR”. The film garnered an impressive ₹ 77 crore on its opening day, comfortably surpassing the opening day collections of both “Stree 2” and “Jawan”.

The horror-comedy sequel, “Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank”, directed by Amar Kaushik, managed to rake in ₹ 46 crore on its release day, benefiting from the popularity of its predecessor. While the film features a cameo by Akshay Kumar, it couldn’t match the box office power of “Devara”.

On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan’s action thriller “Jawan”, directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee, had a successful opening day, collecting ₹ 75 crore in India. Although this placed it behind “Devara”, “Jawan” still holds the record for the biggest opening day collection in the history of Hindi cinema both globally and in the country. The film features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Deepika Padukone in a special appearance.

“Devara” has showcased remarkable strength both domestically and internationally. It collected approximately ₹ 140 crore worldwide on its opening day, highlighting its widespread appeal. The film garnered a significant portion of its earnings from the Telugu region, amassing ₹ 68.6 crore. The Hindi version contributed ₹ 7 crore, while the Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam versions brought in ₹ 0.3 crore, ₹ 0.8 crore, and ₹ 0.3 crore, respectively.

The box office success of “Devara” is a testament to the star power of NTR Jr and the strong narrative of the film. It is a clear indication that the audience is eager to see more of Jr NTR on the big screen, especially after his remarkable international success with “RRR”.
