Plagiarism Claims Rock ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ Ahead of Release

The excitement surrounding Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s comedy ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ is reaching fever pitch as the film prepares for its October 11, 2024, release. With its intriguing trailer and catchy songs, the film has garnered considerable attention. However, a legal storm is brewing that threatens to overshadow the anticipation.

Producers Sanjay Tiwari and Gul Bano Khan have filed a legal notice against the filmmakers, accusing them of plagiarism. According to reports in Times Now, Gul Bano claims that she registered the core concept of ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ with the Screen Writers Association in 2015 under the title ‘Sex Hai Toh Life Hai.’ She further alleges that Sanjay Tiwari was initially involved in producing the film but it faced delays, prompting them to send a legal notice to the production houses involved in ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video,’ including T-Series, Balaji Motion Pictures, Wake Films LLP, Kathvachak Films, and AA Films Private Limited.

The legal notice emphasizes that in 2015, Tiwari and Bano conceived an original storyline for a film centered around a couple’s private video that gets stolen, causing chaos and hilarious consequences. Bano has also provided an email sent to the Screen Writers Association to support their claim and challenge the filmmakers of ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.’

‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video,’ directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Bhushan Kumar, tells the story of newlyweds Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and Vidya (Triptii Dimri), whose intimate video falls into the wrong hands. The film follows their comedic journey to recover the footage, with unexpected twists and humorous situations.

The plagiarism allegations against ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ cast a shadow over the film’s impending release. It remains to be seen how the legal battle will unfold and whether it will impact the film’s box office success.
