Four Workers Killed in Tragic Glass Consignment Accident in Pune

A tragic incident unfolded at a glass manufacturing unit in Pune district, Maharashtra, on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of four labourers and serious injuries to another. The incident occurred around 1:30 pm at the factory located in Yevlewadi, Katraj area, while workers were unloading a consignment of glass from a vehicle.

According to officials, the glass consignment fell on the workers, leading to their injuries. A fire brigade team was immediately dispatched to the scene upon receiving reports of multiple workers being trapped. The fire personnel successfully rescued five injured workers and transported them to a nearby hospital. Sadly, four of the injured succumbed to their injuries, while the fifth worker remains hospitalized for treatment.

Following the incident, the police arrived at the scene and commenced an investigation. Authorities have ordered a probe into the accident to determine the cause and identify any potential safety lapses that may have contributed to this tragic event. This incident underscores the importance of workplace safety measures and highlights the need for stringent protocols to prevent such accidents from occurring in the future.
