Eintracht Frankfurt extended their winning streak to four games in the Bundesliga, securing a convincing 4-2 victory over promoted Holstein Kiel on Sunday. The key figure in the triumph was Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, who delivered a masterclass performance with two goals and two assists. This remarkable display followed a similar pattern from Marmoush, who has now scored in every win for Frankfurt since their opening league loss to Borussia Dortmund.
Marmoush opened the scoring in the 25th minute, setting the tone for the game. After Kiel’s Shuto Machino equalized from a penalty, Marmoush provided the assist for Igor Matanović’s first Bundesliga goal, putting Frankfurt back in the lead. Machino scored his second goal in the 50th minute, briefly tying the score again, but Marmoush responded swiftly with his second goal in the 65th minute. He capped off his sensational performance by setting up Brazilian defender Tuta for Frankfurt’s final goal nine minutes later.
This victory puts Frankfurt just one point behind league leaders Bayern Munich after five rounds. Bayern, however, dropped their first points of the season on Saturday, drawing 1-1 with defending champions Bayer Leverkusen.
Meanwhile, Werder Bremen pulled off a remarkable comeback in the late game, defeating Hoffenheim 4-3. The home team had a dream start, racing to a 3-0 lead within 12 minutes thanks to a brace from Marius Bülter and another goal from Adam Hložek. However, the game took a dramatic turn when Stanley Nsoki was sent off for a foul on Felix Agu in the 18th minute. This allowed Werder Bremen to regroup, with Julian Malatini scoring a goal three minutes later. Jens Stage then scored a hat-trick, including an equalizer in the 39th minute and the winning goal after the break. Despite a late goal from Hoffenheim, Bremen held on for a thrilling victory.
