Newfoundland and Labrador will come together on November 5th to celebrate Hope Air Day, recognizing the organization’s invaluable contributions to healthcare access. Cities and towns across the province, including St. John’s, Portugal Cove-St. Philips, Paradise, Gander, Corner Brook, Stephenville, Channel-Port Aux Basques, and Labrador City, will issue proclamations honoring Hope Air’s impact.
For over 38 years, Hope Air has been a beacon of hope for countless individuals seeking medical treatment outside their communities. Regardless of financial circumstances or location, Hope Air provides free travel and accommodation, ensuring equitable access to essential healthcare. This recognition reflects the vital service Hope Air delivers, empowering individuals to receive necessary care and improving health outcomes for those living in remote areas.
Mark Rubinstein, CEO of Hope Air, emphasizes the organization’s unwavering commitment to accessibility: “With the ongoing increased demand for our services from patients in need across Newfoundland & Labrador, we are working together with government and the private sector to ensure that no patient is left behind. Hope Air Day will be marked by the annual Ham, Eggs & Hope Breakfast, hosted by Jim Burton, a dedicated Hope Air supporter and former board chair. This cherished tradition has become a gathering place for residents to show their support for Hope Air’s mission while enjoying inspiring speeches. This year, Premier Andrew Furey will be among the speakers.
