Breeze Airways Expands Winter Service with Four New Florida Routes

Breeze Airways, the up-and-coming U.S. carrier, is gearing up for a busy winter season with the addition of four new routes connecting popular Florida leisure destinations to various points across the country. The airline, known for its focus on underserved markets, continues to expand its network with a strategic approach that targets destinations often overlooked by larger airlines.

Three of the new routes will serve Orlando International Airport (MCO), adding connectivity to destinations including Provo, Utah (starting December 21st), Gulfport-Biloxi, Mississippi (starting February 6th), and Ogdensburg, New York (starting February 13th). The Provo route will operate three times weekly year-round, while the Gulfport-Biloxi and Ogdensburg routes will operate twice weekly. Notably, the Ogdensburg route will be seasonal, operating during the winter and spring months.

Interestingly, Breeze has already launched a new Essential Air Service (EAS) route connecting Ogdensburg to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) on September 27th. This daily service marks the airline’s entry into the D.C. market and is subsidized by the U.S. government.

The fourth new Florida route connects Tampa International Airport (TPA) to Erie, Pennsylvania, offering twice-weekly seasonal service during the winter and spring months. This expansion demonstrates Breeze’s commitment to connecting smaller cities with popular vacation destinations, offering travelers more options and flexibility.

Breeze prides itself on operating a unique route network with minimal competition. Currently, over 80% of its routes are not served by any other airlines. The airline’s network extends across over 60 U.S. airports with more than 200 routes in operation.

The new Florida routes will be serviced by Breeze’s Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which will make up the entirety of its fleet for scheduled services by the end of 2024. The airline plans to operate a fleet of 32 A220-300 aircraft by the end of 2024 and a larger fleet of 90 aircraft by 2028. Each A220-300 offers 137 seats, including 12 premium seats with a generous 39-inch pitch.

Breeze Airways, founded in May 2021, has experienced remarkable revenue growth in 2024, a testament to the airline’s successful strategy of targeting underserved markets and offering affordable fares. The airline’s commitment to growth and expansion, combined with its unique route network, positions it as a significant player in the U.S. aviation landscape.
