The idea is to save you time and effort by providing readily available responses, allowing for faster communication. However, the feature isn’t activated for all messages. The AI needs to be able to understand the context of the message, which means it might not offer suggestions if the message is too long, contains a URL, has offensive content, or is an OTP (one-time password) message.
To provide these suggestions, your recent text messages are uploaded to a Microsoft service, allowing the AI to analyze them and generate appropriate replies within the conversation window. Microsoft assures users that this data is collected to improve the experience and ensure safety and security.
