Chanel Nexus Hall Celebrates 20th Anniversary with New Exhibition Series and Support for Emerging Artists

Chanel Nexus Hall is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a renewed focus on nurturing emerging talent and promoting intercultural dialogue in the art world. Under the guidance of Philippe Tinari, director of the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing, Chanel Nexus Hall is transforming into a vibrant platform for artistic collaboration and exchange.

As part of this new direction, Chanel Nexus Hall is embarking on a groundbreaking exhibition series in collaboration with the ‘Hasegawa Lab,’ a leading curator training program led by Yuko Hasegawa, Director of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. This collaboration will provide a platform for emerging curators from the ‘Hasegawa Lab’ to showcase their fresh perspectives and foster dialogue among diverse artistic voices.

The inaugural exhibition in this series, ‘Everyday Enchantment: Reclaiming Magic in the Ordinary,’ delves into the theme of rediscovering the magic hidden within our daily lives. In a world increasingly dominated by technology and information, the exhibition encourages a renewed sense of wonder and imagination.

Three artists from France, Japan, and the United States are participating in this captivating exhibition. Bianca Bondi, through her mesmerizing tapestry works, uses salt water-based chemical reactions to depict the subtle processes of life through moss and crystals. Kobayashi Ryokou presents vibrant sculptures that transform everyday objects into lively, pulsating beings. Finally, Niwa Kaori explores eco-feminism through delicate, fairy-like object-based works that intertwine personal narratives and texts.

Each piece in the exhibition transforms Chanel Nexus Hall into a creative garden, blurring the lines between human and non-human, organic and artificial. This artful fusion presents a future vision of interconnectedness and harmony, where all beings co-exist and evolve together.

‘Everyday Enchantment: Reclaiming Magic in the Ordinary’ is an invitation to experience the magic that surrounds us. From October 19th to December 8th, visitors can immerse themselves in this captivating exhibition at Chanel Nexus Hall, located on the 4th floor of the Chanel Ginza Building. Admission is free, and the gallery is open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (last entry at 6:30 PM).
