The Football Association (FA) has announced that Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has been charged with misconduct. The charge stems from an incident that occurred after Forest’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to Fulham on Saturday.
The FA alleges that Marinakis behaved improperly in the vicinity of the City Ground tunnel after the final whistle. Marinakis now has until Monday to respond to the charge.
Forest’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season came to an end following a VAR review that awarded Fulham a penalty, ultimately decided by striker Raul Jimenez. The decision sparked frustration among Forest supporters. Adding to their disappointment, VAR ruled against Forest on a penalty claim involving Anthony Elanga and Taiwo Awoniyi, and a first-half goal by Chris Wood was disallowed for offside.
