Goa Board Reschedules Class 12 Exams to Accommodate JEE Aspirants

In a move to ensure ample preparation time for students aiming for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2025, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has announced a change to the Class 12 board examination schedule. The exams will now commence on February 10, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled date of February 1st. This adjustment was made in response to numerous requests from higher secondary schools, parents, and local representatives who expressed concerns regarding the limited time available for students to adequately prepare for both the board exams and the JEE, which is anticipated to conclude by the end of January.

The GBSHSE recognized the importance of providing JEE aspirants with sufficient time to focus on both their entrance and board examinations. The board acknowledged that the original schedule would have put significant pressure on students, potentially hindering their performance in either exam. This rescheduling aims to alleviate this stress and allow students to concentrate fully on each examination.

The revised schedule will see the Class 12 board exams take place from February 10 to February 24, 2025. Most exam papers will be conducted for three hours, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, while select exams will be held for two hours, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, or for one and a half hours, from 9:30 to 11 am. The board has emphasized that under no circumstances will the examinations be postponed, even during public holidays.

For further details regarding the revised exam schedule and other relevant information, candidates and parents are encouraged to visit the official website of GBSHSE at www.gbshse.in. The GBSHSE has also instructed all schools to prominently display the circular regarding the schedule change on their notice boards.
