This spectacular event marks the IAF’s 92nd anniversary and will feature a dazzling array of 72 aircraft, including the formidable Rafale, the versatile SU-30, the iconic MIGs, the agile Jaguars, and the indigenous Tejas.
The sky will come alive with the synchronized maneuvers of the Surya Kiran and Sarang helicopter teams, showcasing their exceptional skills and precision. This year’s air show carries the theme ‘Bhartiya Vayu Sena – Saksham, Sashakt, Atmanirbhar,’ signifying the Indian Air Force’s strength, power, and self-reliance. To ensure a seamless experience for spectators, the Chennai Traffic Police has issued a travel advisory, encouraging commuters to utilize Metro and Chennai Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) services to avoid congestion and reach the venue comfortably. The advisory urges the public to plan their travel in advance and arrive early to secure a prime viewing spot for the air show.
This two-hour-long grand air show will take place from 11 am to 1 pm on October 6th at Chennai’s Marina Beach, the world’s second largest beach. Entry to the event is free, offering everyone a chance to witness this incredible display of aerial skill and power.
For those who can’t make it to the venue, the IAF airshow will be live-streamed on the official YouTube channels of Doordarshan National and Doordarshan Tamil between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
