Prince Harry Extends Solo Trip to Africa, Spending More Time with Family and Friends

Prince Harry has decided to extend his solo trip abroad, staying in Africa longer than initially planned without his wife, Meghan Markle. While he was initially set to return to California this weekend to be with Meghan and their two children, sources have revealed that the Duke of Sussex is spending extra time connecting with the Royal Family and close friends in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

According to the Daily Express, Harry’s extended stay includes a secret visit that wasn’t part of his official itinerary. “It’s all very cloak and dagger but Harry has extended his trip abroad by another few days. He’ll likely go to Johannesburg and then to visit family and friends. The Spencers have a home there (in Cape Town) and he has a lot of friends from that part of the world,” a source shared.

Harry’s prolonged solo travels have sparked some curiosity about his relationship with Meghan. While he has been spending time in Africa, Meghan has remained in their Montecito, California home with their children, Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (3). This extended period apart has prompted speculation about the couple’s dynamic after six years of marriage.

Harry’s recent trip to Africa has seen him reunite with his friend Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, where he spoke about his charity, Sentebale. Before his South African visit, Harry made a solo trip to London for the WellChild Awards, but didn’t meet with his father, King Charles, or his brother, Prince William. He also traveled to New York for events, including a speech at the Clinton Global Initiative, where he addressed the dangers of online harm for children.

Meghan’s absence from Harry’s recent travels has led to questions about the reasons behind their separate journeys. While Meghan previously joined Harry on trips to Nigeria and Colombia, she did not accompany him on his latest ventures. Sources in California suggest that Harry sought some personal space during this period. Journalist Alison Boshoff, quoting a London source, has suggested that Harry may be aiming to establish himself as a prominent figure on the global stage.
