Tragic Fire in Mumbai Claims Seven Lives, Including Three Minors

A devastating fire erupted in a double-storey shop-cum-residential building in Mumbai’s Chembur area on Sunday morning, claiming the lives of seven people, including three minors. The fire broke out at 5:20 am in a building located in Siddharth Colony.

According to a fire official, the ground floor of the structure housed a shop, while the upper floor served as a residence. The fire, classified as a ‘level-one’ incident, originated in the electric wiring and installations within the ground floor shop before spreading to the upper floor.

Seven individuals sustained injuries in the fire and were rushed to Rajawadi Hospital, where they were unfortunately declared dead upon arrival. The deceased have been identified as Paris Gupta (7), Manju Prem Gupta (30), Anita Gupta (39), Prem Gupta (30), Narendra Gupta (10), Vidhi Chediram Gupta (15) and Gitadevi Dharamdev Gupta (60).

Fire engines, water tankers, and other emergency assistance were promptly deployed to the scene. The blaze was successfully extinguished by 9:15 am. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
