Diksha Dagar Misses Cut at Aramco Team Series, Rashid Khan Shines in Taiwan

Indian golfer Diksha Dagar endured a disappointing outing at the Aramco Team Series in China, failing to make the cut after a four-over 77 in the second round. Following a 76 in the first round, she needed a strong performance to advance, but her scorecard featured only one birdie against five bogeys, four of which came on the back nine. Diksha’s team also finished in 12th place, with teammates Moa Folke, Xinyu Cao, and Ding. The highlight for the team was Folke’s impressive hole-in-one on the Par-3 eighth hole.

In the Individual competition, China’s Xiyu Lin and France’s Celine Boutier are tied for the lead at 12-under-par. Defending champion Lin shot a 67 (-6) in the second round, recording seven birdies and one bogey, putting her in a strong position to retain her title. Boutier, a five-time LET winner, followed up her first-round 66 (-7) with a bogey-free 68 (-5) to join Lin at the top of the leaderboard. China’s Wenbo Liu sits in third place at nine-under-par, after a 68 (-5) in the second round. Six players are tied for fourth place at eight-under-par, including France’s Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, who had the round of the day with a 66 (-7).

Meanwhile, Team Tamburlini secured a one-stroke victory in the Team event, finishing with a total of 37-under-par. The team, consisting of Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini, South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace, China’s Qianhui Lin, and amateur Yanxuan Peng, started the day in second place at -19 on the World Cup Course. Their victory was secured on the final hole when Tamburlini sank a birdie putt, triggering celebrations on the green. Pace celebrated her first-ever Team event victory. Team Boutier pushed the winners all the way, finishing in second place at 36-under-par after back-to-back rounds of -18 in China. Team Angel Yin finished third at 34-under-par. The cut fell at +2, with 65 players advancing to the final round at Mission Hills China.

In other golf news, India’s Rashid Khan, a two-time Asian Tour winner, started the Mercuries Taiwan Masters on a strong note, shooting a four-under 68. He currently sits in a tie for fourth place, while fellow Indian golfer S Chikkarangappa is tied for ninth with a score of 69. SSP Chawrasia and Karandeep Kochhar are tied for 17th after rounds of 70, while Varun Chopra is in 27th place with 71. Yuvraj Sandhu and T-Gaganjeet Bhullar are tied for 60th with a score of 72, while Ajeetesh Sandhu sits in 116th place after shooting 79. Trevor Simsby (US), Jaco Ahlers (South Africa), and Chonlatit Chuenboonngam of Thailand are tied for the lead with a score of 67 each. Five players, including Rashid Khan, are tied for fourth place.
