Kari Lake Blasts Ruben Gallego as ‘Radical’ in Arizona Senate Race

In the heated Arizona Senate race, Republican candidate Kari Lake is leaving no punches unthrown against her Democratic opponent, Rep. Ruben Gallego. Lake has been vocal in labeling Gallego as a “radical” and accusing him of dishonesty, citing a resurfaced 2016 interview where Gallego reportedly disparaged Trump voters as “dumb” and “the worst people in the world.”

“He’s been lying about who he is,” Lake asserts. “He’s trying to paint himself as a moderate, which is laughable if it wasn’t so dangerous.” Lake further criticizes Gallego for his perceived extremism on various issues, including his stance on immigration, defunding the police, and women’s sports. She alleges that Gallego’s past votes align with radical policies like supporting sanctuary cities and states, opposing border security measures, and advocating for an open border policy. She also criticizes his co-sponsorship of the George Floyd legislation, which she claims would have defunded police nationwide.

Lake further points to Gallego’s voting record on spending bills and his position on women’s sports, arguing that his stances are not in line with the interests of everyday Arizonans. Lake is particularly critical of Gallego’s support for allowing biological men to compete in women’s athletics, calling it “the end for girls sports.”

“It’s absolutely crazy and he’s as radical as they come,” Lake declares.

Despite polls showing Gallego leading by about 7 points, Lake maintains that the race is much closer than it appears. She attributes this confidence to her own internal polling data and claims that her campaign is gaining traction among independent voters and disaffected Democrats.

“I do believe that independents are with me,” Lake says. “I think we’re doing pretty well, our polling is showing that we’re building on the independent vote. And I think a lot of Democrats, while he [Gallego] hates Trump voters and he hates Republicans, I don’t hate Democrats. I actually believe that disaffected Democrats are going to help us turn the corner.”

Lake believes that many Democrats are disillusioned with the direction of their party, viewing current leaders like Vice President Kamala Harris and Rep. Gallego as representing a shift away from traditional Democratic values.

“They’re realizing, looking at Kamala Harris and Ruben Gallego, and they’re saying, wait a minute, this isn’t the Democrat Party that I signed up for years ago,” Lake explains. “The old Democrat Party used to care about the working class. The old Democrat Party wanted a strong economy for everybody. This Democrat Party is a bunch of globalists, and they are for, they want to spend more money helping people coming here illegally than they do people who are American citizens.”

Despite the challenges of facing a well-funded opponent, Lake remains optimistic, drawing strength from the grassroots support she’s garnered across Arizona. She emphasizes her dedication to representing all Arizonans, regardless of their political affiliation, and pledges to bring integrity and honesty to Washington D.C.

“The people of Arizona know me and they trust me,” Lake asserts. “I love the people of the state. I want to represent all of them, including people who maybe don’t even vote for me. If you choose not to vote for me, I hope I can earn your vote, but I still want to represent you and I want to do a great job for you in Washington, D.C. We need decent, honest people back to D.C. and Ruben Gallego was not honest before he got into politics.”

The Gallego campaign did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
