A customer, known as “WaltzSimple6037” on Reddit, discovered a dead cockroach in their iced latte. Initially mistaking it for a coffee bean, the customer was horrified after realizing the truth. The cafe’s iced latte, priced at ₹335, is advertised on Zomato as a 365ml drink with around 63kcal. However, the customer’s experience has left many questioning the cafe’s commitment to hygiene and food safety.

The customer shared their experience on Reddit, stating: “I visited Lopera today in Khan Market and ordered an iced latte to go. When I opened the drink, I thought I saw a coffee bean floating around, but when I flipped it over, it was a freaking COCKROACH.” The customer further expressed disappointment with the cafe staff’s reaction, feeling their apologies lacked genuine concern. “What made it worse was how the staff handled it—they were so nonchalant and just kept saying sorry like robots, no real concern at all. If hygiene is this bad at such a well-known cafe, I can’t even imagine what it’s like at other places in India,” they added.
