The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has sounded the alarm over the prolonged delay in the NEET PG 2024 counselling process. In a letter addressed to Union Health Minister J P Nadda, the IMA expressed deep concern about the immense distress this delay is causing to thousands of NEET PG aspirants across the nation.
The IMA highlighted the detrimental impact of the delayed counselling process, stating that it is creating significant anxiety and uncertainty among aspiring doctors who are eager to begin their postgraduate medical education. The organization emphasized that the prolonged wait is not only affecting the students’ academic and career aspirations but also potentially impacting the healthcare system’s ability to meet the growing demand for qualified medical professionals.
In their letter, the IMA urged the Ministry of Health to actively explore interim measures that can expedite the counselling process and ensure its commencement at the earliest. The IMA stressed the need to prioritize the interests of both the students and the healthcare system, ensuring a fair and timely resolution to the situation. The IMA’s plea underscores the critical importance of addressing this delay promptly, allowing aspiring doctors to pursue their postgraduate studies and contribute effectively to the nation’s healthcare landscape.
