StoreDot’s Fast-Charging EV Battery Gains Traction with 5 Major Automakers

StoreDot, the pioneer in extreme fast charging (XFC) silicon battery technology for electric vehicles (EVs), is making significant strides in its commercialization journey. The company has achieved key milestones and strategic partnerships, culminating in a strong position for its battery technology to be integrated into EVs by the end of 2026.

StoreDot’s XFC battery, which has already undergone testing by 15 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including five of the top ten, is production-ready. It boasts impressive performance, charging twice as fast as other premium fast-charge models without compromising battery life or causing degradation. This breakthrough addresses a critical challenge facing the EV market: consumer concerns about limited charging infrastructure and slow charging times.

The EV industry has witnessed a slowdown in growth, with several major automakers scaling back production due to concerns about declining demand. This slowdown has been attributed to the drying up of government subsidies and a lack of readily available fast charging capabilities. However, StoreDot’s XFC technology offers a solution to these challenges, providing a fast-charge battery that effectively eliminates range anxiety.

StoreDot’s impressive progress is evidenced by its successful vehicle demonstration with a Polestar 5 prototype. The company is actively collaborating with leading OEMs to customize its technology, ensuring seamless integration within different car models. This includes tailoring the battery’s dimensions to meet manufacturer-specific requirements, enabling a 10-minute charge time for future EV models.

StoreDot’s commitment to innovation has resulted in over 100 patents in its intellectual property portfolio. Its ‘drop-in’ technology leverages existing manufacturing equipment and processes, ensuring a quick-to-market solution for OEMs without requiring additional capital expenditures.

Dr. Doron Myersdorf, CEO and Co-Founder of StoreDot, expressed the company’s confidence: “We are proud to achieve another commercial milestone. Our partnership with leading OEMs allows us to continuously optimize our XFC technology while delivering a 10-80 percent charge in just 10 minutes. We anticipate that XFC technology will transition from a premium feature to a standard in all EV models, effectively addressing charging and range anxiety.”

StoreDot’s vision goes beyond merely accelerating charging speeds. The company’s ‘100inX’ product roadmap aims to deliver ‘Range on DemandTM,’ with future goals of charging 100 miles in 5 minutes by 2024, 4 minutes by 2026, and 3 minutes by 2028.

StoreDot’s impressive track record and strategic partnerships with industry giants such as BP, Daimler, VinFast, Volvo Cars, Polestar, Ola Electric, Samsung, TDK, and its manufacturing partner EVE Energy, solidify its position as a leading force in the future of EV technology.
