Inter Kashi, an I-League club based in Uttar Pradesh, has made a powerful statement about its commitment to women’s football. The club announced on Tuesday the launch of its own women’s team, ‘The Vishalakshis’, a name that embodies grace, strength, and the spirit of womanhood, aligning perfectly with the celebration of Navaratri.
Club chairman Vinod Dugar expressed immense enthusiasm about the new team, highlighting the support received from the UP Football Sangh and the All India Football Federation. This launch marks a significant moment for Inter Kashi, which itself made history in the 2023-24 I-League season by becoming the first club from Uttar Pradesh to compete at the national level. In preparation for the upcoming 2024-25 season, Inter Kashi appointed experienced Spanish tactician Antonio Lopez Habas as head coach.
