Cambridge Audio is ending the year with a bang by launching its new premium EX Series, a powerful duo consisting of the EXA100 Stereo Integrated Amplifier and the EXN100 Music Streamer. The British audio company is known for its commitment to delivering high-quality sound, and the EX Series lives up to that reputation, promising a transformative audio experience.
The EXN100, priced at $1,799, is described as the “streaming brains” of the EX Series. It features the latest generation of Cambridge Audio’s StreamMagic platform, a testament to their 13 years of experience in crafting seamless and stable streaming experiences. The EXN100 supports a wide range of streaming services, including Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Deezer, Qobuz, and more. It also boasts Roon Ready, UPnP, Internet Radio, Chromecast, AirPlay 2, and Bluetooth aptX HD connectivity, making it a truly versatile streamer.
The $2,199 EXA100, the “beating heart” of the EX Series, is a powerhouse amplifier drawing inspiration from the legendary Azur 851 range. Delivering a robust 100 watts per channel of Class AB power, the EXA100 utilizes amplifier modules based on those found in the high-end Edge M power amp, even employing the same monobloc power transistors for exceptional audio quality. The EXA100 is packed with connectivity options, including balanced XLR inputs, three sets of RCA inputs, a 6.3mm headphone output, a stereo preamp output, and a subwoofer output. It even features two pairs of speaker posts for multi-room or outdoor audio setups.
Both the EXA100 and EXN100 offer digital connectivity options, including HDMI eARC, USB, coaxial, and TOSLINK optical inputs. They also feature high-quality DACs (digital-to-analog converters) to ensure pristine sound quality from high-resolution audio sources. The EXA100’s aptX HD capability allows you to enjoy hi-res audio over Bluetooth, further enhancing its versatility.
The EX Series is designed to work seamlessly together, with the EXN100 Music Streamer feeding the EXA100 Amplifier for a truly immersive audio experience.
