Delta’s Ultra-Fast EV Chargers Power Up McDonald’s Locations Across France

Delta, a global leader in power management and a provider of IoT-based smart green solutions, is bringing ultra-fast EV charging to McDonald’s customers across France. The company announced that its 200kW DC ultra-fast EV charger UFC 200 series has been selected by IZIVIA FAST* to power charging stations at over 700 McDonald’s restaurant parking lots. This initiative is expected to deploy approximately 800 Delta UFC 200 units, providing a significant boost to the country’s EV charging infrastructure.

Delta’s UFC 200 chargers are designed for speed and efficiency, capable of charging up to 80% of a common EV battery in just 20 minutes. This rapid charging capability is essential in addressing the growing demand for convenient and accessible EV charging solutions.

Christelle Vives, CEO of IZIVIA, a subsidiary of the EDF Group, highlighted the importance of this collaboration in expanding France’s EV charging network. “As a leading force in electric mobility, IZIVIA is dedicated to enhancing the EV charging landscape, supervising over 25,000 operational charging points.” She emphasized the need to address the gap in high-power charging stations, with less than 10% of France’s public charging points offering 150kW or greater power.

Vincent Lin, Vice President of eMobility & Smart Energy Solutions at Delta EMEA, expressed Delta’s pride in partnering with IZIVIA to serve McDonald’s and its customers. “We are honored that IZIVIA has chosen Delta to ultimately serve McDonald’s and their customers, underscoring our dedication to enhancing the EV infrastructure across the EMEA region and beyond. For almost 15 years, Delta has deployed over 3 million EV chargers to our customers worldwide.”

Delta’s UFC 200 chargers offer flexibility and efficiency. Its 200kW capacity can be divided into two 100kW units, allowing simultaneous charging of two EVs. The system features an innovative, non-liquid cooled 400A high-power CCS cable/connector, ensuring efficient temperature control and minimizing maintenance costs.

The partnership with IZIVIA offers a strategic advantage by leveraging McDonald’s extensive network of restaurants across France. This makes finding an EV charging station as simple as finding a familiar McDonald’s location. Customers can now enjoy the convenience of EV charging while grabbing a meal or a coffee.

Delta’s commitment to sustainable solutions aligns perfectly with McDonald’s efforts to promote responsible practices. This collaboration not only provides convenient charging options for EV drivers but also contributes to a cleaner and more sustainable future.

This initiative is expected to significantly enhance the EV charging experience in France, making it more accessible and convenient for both McDonald’s customers and the wider EV community. As the demand for EVs continues to rise, partnerships like this are crucial for building a robust and sustainable EV infrastructure. (*IZIVIA is a shareholder of IZIVIA FAST.)
