The panel pointed out the irony of a feminist like Ruth Whippman writing about the pitfalls of “positive masculinity” in The New York Times. “After the cartoon supervillainy of Donald Trump and the smarmy misogyny of J.D. Vance, the positive masculinity of Walz and his ilk is a joyful relief. But for the next generation of boys, we might do better to ditch the masculinity rhetoric altogether,” wrote Whippman. Gutfeld quipped that having a feminist write about masculinity was akin to “having a vegan review The Outback Steakhouse.”
The panel was particularly amused by Stern’s gushing interview with Harris, pointing out the stark contrast to his previous antics, including throwing baloney slices at strippers. Gutfeld even joked about Stern’s recent transformation, comparing it to “putting your balls in a tic tac container.”
Gutfeld argued that Stern’s sudden change was likely a form of self-imposed penance for his past behavior. “This is Stern’s self-imposed penance for subjugating women to demoralizing stunts, capitalizing on desperate females, thirsting for attention, even if it’s from an oily paddle striking their bare a**es,” he explained.
The panel also explored the left’s attempt to discard masculinity altogether, questioning the inherent contradictions in their ideology. They argued that this desire to eliminate masculinity stemmed from guilt and self-preservation, highlighting the hypocrisy of progressive men who claim to champion women’s rights while simultaneously expressing fear and loathing of their own past behavior.
Gutfeld concluded by diagnosing Stern’s transformation as a product of therapy and a desperate need to redefine masculinity in a progressive era. He suggested that Stern’s newfound admiration for Kamala Harris might be a desperate attempt to appease his inner demons and gain acceptance in a liberal social circle.
