Punjab’s weightlifting star, Harjinder Kaur, continued her dominance at the National Weightlifting Championships in Nagrota Bagwan, Himachal Pradesh. On Thursday, she etched her name in the record books once again, shattering three national records in the women’s 71kg category.
Kaur’s incredible strength and athleticism were on full display as she lifted an impressive 98kg in the snatch, surpassing her own previous record of 96kg. She followed this up with an equally impressive clean and jerk of 125kg, breaking her previous best of 124kg. This impressive feat earned her a total weight lifted of 223kg, exceeding her old record of 220kg.
Kaur’s performance secured her the top spot in the women’s 71kg category. S. Pallavi from Andhra Pradesh finished second with a total lift of 208kg, while M. Lekha Maalya from RSPB took third with a total of 195kg.
