Vogue Singapore Innovation Prize 2024: Empowering Asian Entrepreneurs

Vogue Singapore, in its ongoing mission to elevate and support regional trailblazers, has partnered with luxury automotive manufacturer BMW for the fourth edition of the Vogue Singapore Innovation Prize. The prize aims to identify and nurture Asian entrepreneurial excellence, and this year saw applicants from across the region participate in an intensive two-day bootcamp, featuring talks from industry leaders. Ten businesses were shortlisted and moved on to a four-week mentorship program, guided by experts like Indian couturier Gaurav Gupta, Google’s Corey Moran, and BMW’s Renzo Vitale. The businesses then presented their plans to a Vogue Singapore jury, and two finalists were chosen. These finalists, Off/Script and PAKT, will now pitch their ideas to a VIP panel, including Vogue Singapore Publisher Bettina von Schlippe, Condé Nast’s Ciara Byrne, and BMW’s Dr. Stella Clarke. The winner, to be announced at the 2024 Next In Vogue gala on October 18th, will receive a SGD$20,000 cash prize, media exposure in Vogue Singapore, a one-year membership to the Singapore Fashion Council, a pro bono legal consultation from Gibson Dunn, and invaluable feedback from global industry leaders. Additionally, they will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Monaco, hosted by VisitMonaco, for an innovation-packed itinerary including mentorship sessions, workshops, investor meetings, and events.

Off/Script:

Off/Script is an app that aims to be the world’s first community-led product creation platform. Co-founders Jonathan and Justine envision a future where passionate individuals can turn their creative ideas into reality. The app allows users to upload product designs, which are then put to a vote by other users. Once a design reaches 100 likes, Off/Script assigns a selling price and minimum order quantity. Users have a month to reach enough pre-orders to start production, with buyers charged only after the campaign is successful and orders are shipped. Off/Script has already onboarded over 300,000 women designers from around the world, empowering them to bring their visions to life. The platform is also a powerful counter to the mass production model of fast fashion, promoting circularity and conscious consumption.

PAKT:

PAKT, founded in Hong Kong in 2015, is a circular wardrobe service that revolutionizes how people organize and manage their clothing. It offers specialized storage in climate-controlled environments, inventory optimization, and wardrobe valuations. PAKT goes beyond personal use and is ideal for professional shoppers and stylists. Through a personalized app, creative consultants can access their client’s digitized wardrobes from anywhere in the world, enabling remote selections and fittings via photos or video calls. All garments are then seamlessly packed and delivered to the customer. PAKT also allows users to sell their pre-loved clothing, eliminating the hassle of listing items on various platforms. This function is in line with PAKT’s commitment to fashion circularity and extending the lifespan of clothing. The Vogue Singapore Innovation Prize 2024 celebrates these two companies and their commitment to innovation, sustainability, and empowering creators.
