Samsung Brings MoMA Art to Your Living Room with The Frame TV
Get ready to transform your living room into a personal art gallery, because Samsung has partnered with the iconic Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) to bring over two dozen renowned masterpieces to its Frame TVs. This innovative collaboration allows you to experience iconic works like Van Gogh’s ‘The Starry Night,’ Mondrian’s ‘Trafalgar Square,’ and Monet’s ‘Water Lilies’ in the comfort of your own home, without the usual crowds or museum entrance fees.
The collection features 27 pieces from MoMA’s extensive holdings, showcasing a diverse range of artists and styles, including pairings by Frida Kahlo, Henri Matisse, Georgia O’Keefe, Claude Monet, and more. This initiative is designed to make world-renowned art more accessible to a broader audience, allowing art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the beauty and history of these celebrated pieces.
“MoMA is a place that fuels creativity, ignites minds and provides inspiration. Through our relationship with Samsung, we are broadening access to MoMA’s collection in a truly innovative way to millions of people,” shared Robin Sayetta, head of business development at The Museum of Modern Art, in a press release. “We were purposeful in building this new digital collection and hope to enrich the lives of art enthusiasts with culture and history at an extraordinary scale.”
This isn’t Samsung’s first foray into the world of art and technology. The company has previously collaborated with other prominent institutions like the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Musée d’Orsay, offering digital collections featuring renowned artists such as René Magritte, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Marimekko designs.
“At Samsung, we strive to redefine the home entertainment experience through continual innovation. Our collaboration with MoMA allows us to bring culturally significant works into millions of homes, allowing people to engage with renowned art in a truly remarkable way,” remarked Sang Yoon Kim, EVP and general manager of the North America Service Business at Samsung Electronics, in the press release. “This endeavor exemplifies Samsung’s mission to use technology to deliver exceptional experiences into the everyday lives of consumers.”
Samsung’s Frame TV is more than just a television; it seamlessly blends into your home decor, doubling as a digital art frame. The art from the Samsung Art Store can be accessed individually or through a subscription service, allowing you to customize your visual experience. Designed to mimic an authentic art piece, The Frame mounts flush to the wall and features a matte display that minimizes reflections.
