NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Leaks: 12GB & 18GB Models with Performance Boost over RTX 4070 Ti SUPER

NVIDIA is prepping its next-gen graphics card lineup, and the GeForce RTX 5070 is already making waves in the tech world. According to leaks from Tom at Moore’s Law is Dead, the RTX 5070 is set to debut in two versions, both promising impressive performance gains over its predecessor, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.

The standard GeForce RTX 5070 will come equipped with 12GB of GDDR7 memory. This model is expected to offer a 5% boost in rasterization performance compared to the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, while also delivering a 5-10% uplift in ray tracing (RT) performance for games utilizing this feature.

But NVIDIA isn’t stopping there. The leaks indicate that the company is also working on a more powerful RTX 5070 18GB model. This version will boast a larger memory capacity, faster GDDR7 memory modules, and potentially offer a further 5% performance advantage over the 12GB variant. This boosted model is rumored to be priced around $800.

Digging deeper into the specs, the RTX 5070 12GB will leverage 28Gbps GDDR7 memory, providing a 33% increase in memory bandwidth compared to the RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 SUPER. This translates to a remarkable 672GB/sec memory bandwidth, ensuring smooth performance at high resolutions like 1440p and 4K, especially when coupled with DLSS (and the upcoming DLSS 4).

NVIDIA is aiming for a 250W TBP (Total Board Power) with the RTX 5070, which translates to a significant power efficiency improvement. This, combined with the new Blackwell GPU architecture, promises a 30-50% performance jump over the RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 SUPER. Custom overclocked versions of the RTX 5070 are expected to push those numbers even higher.

The upcoming GeForce RTX 50 series is also set to embrace the latest DisplayPort 2.1a standard, enabling support for 4K 480Hz and 8K 240Hz resolutions through a single cable. This paves the way for a new era of high-refresh-rate gaming displays, further enhancing the immersive gaming experience.

Finally, the RTX 5070, along with the entire RTX 50 series, will feature support for the latest PCIe 5.0 standard, ensuring optimal bandwidth and performance.

The GeForce RTX 5070, with its two distinct offerings and impressive performance advancements, is poised to shake up the graphics card market in 2025. Gamers are eagerly awaiting the official release and the opportunity to experience the next generation of NVIDIA’s powerful gaming technology.
