This newly renovated air logistics center, located within the Changi Airfreight Centre (CAC), is a testament to CAG’s commitment to providing world-class facilities for the ever-growing air cargo industry.
Changi Nexus One offers approximately 8,000 square meters of warehouse space, strategically designed for optimal efficiency with direct apron access. This layout caters specifically to air logistics companies seeking to expand their global reach through Singapore. The facility is set up to accommodate two tenants, facilitating rapid cargo processing and ensuring a smooth flow of goods.
The development of Changi Nexus One not only enhances Changi Airport’s logistics warehouse capacity but also positions it strategically for future growth. As the Changi East Industrial Zone (CEIZ) is projected to be completed by the mid-2030s, the demand for air cargo services is expected to rise significantly. This forward-thinking investment underscores Changi Airport’s proactive approach to meeting the demands of the evolving air cargo landscape.

Changi Nexus One represents a significant leap forward in the realm of air logistics, integrating advanced technology and sustainable building practices. The new tenants, including global air freight forwarding company Expeditors, will bring their expertise in automated and smart cargo handling, further enhancing Changi Airport’s cargo management capabilities. Expeditors, recognized as the world’s seventh-largest air freight forwarding company, is expanding its air logistics footprint in Singapore and sees Changi Nexus One as a strategic platform to enhance its service offerings. As Barthul Hoefnagels, Regional Vice President – Malaysia, Singapore & Indonesia, states, “The new facility in Changi Airfreight Centre will enhance our end-to-end efficiency and reliability through fewer touch points, allowing Expeditors to further enhance our specialised cargo handling capabilities for pharmaceutical, aviation, semiconductor and other industries, and better serve the in-transit needs of our global customers.”
Beyond its operational prowess, Changi Nexus One sets a new standard in environmentally responsible building practices. This facility is the first structure within the Changi Airport Complex (CAC) to achieve both the Green Mark Platinum and the prestigious Green Mark Platinum Positive Energy Building (PEB) certifications from Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA). This double certification highlights the building’s commitment to sustainability, exceeding industry expectations and setting an example for future development within Changi Airport.
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Generation
Changi Nexus One has achieved a remarkable feat by exceeding the criteria for the Green Mark Platinum PEB designation, becoming a BCA super-low energy building. It has achieved an impressive reduction in energy consumption, saving over 60% compared to conventional buildings. Moreover, Changi Nexus One generates more renewable energy than it consumes, demonstrating its commitment to a carbon-neutral future.
As part of its broader sustainability strategy, Changi Airport is actively expanding the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems across its facilities, including the Cargo Agent Buildings. Changi Nexus One will be equipped with PV panels by early 2025, allowing the building to generate 140% of its own energy needs from renewable sources by 2028. This surplus energy will be used to power other airport operations, further enhancing Changi Airport’s overall energy sustainability.

Working closely with our tenants, we aim to bring in new cargo opportunities and expand into new markets. ”
