The investigation into the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique has taken a significant turn with the emergence of Shubham Lonkar as a key suspect. Lonkar, the brother of Pravin Lonkar, who was arrested as a co-conspirator in the murder case, is believed to be deeply involved in the plot.
Police sources have confirmed that Lonkar, suspected to have strong ties with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, is currently on the run and actively being pursued by authorities. The case has taken a dramatic turn, as Lonkar was previously interrogated in connection with the firing incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in April but was eventually released due to insufficient evidence.
According to reports, Lonkar’s name surfaced during questioning of individuals linked to the firing incident at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. He was allegedly accused of providing shelter to the suspects but was released as no concrete evidence could be found to support the claim.
The Mumbai Police, however, are convinced of Lonkar’s role in the Baba Siddique murder case and are actively searching for him. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Lonkar, along with other wanted individuals, conspired to carry out the attack and supplied weapons to the shooters. He is also suspected to have posted a message on Facebook claiming responsibility for the murder on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has since been deleted.
The Mumbai Police are now collaborating with social media platforms to trace the origin of the post, which further implicates Lonkar in the conspiracy. With Lonkar still at large, the investigation into the Baba Siddique murder case continues to intensify, raising the stakes for both law enforcement and the public.
