Embraer Expands U.S. Presence with New MRO Center in Fort Worth, Texas

Embraer S.A. (ERJ), the renowned Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, has announced an expansion of its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services in the United States. This expansion marks a significant investment in the U.S. aviation industry, bringing a new service center to Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas, to support its ever-growing fleet of E-Jets.

Embraer’s decision to establish this new facility in Fort Worth underscores the city’s burgeoning status as a key hub for aerospace innovation. The company, in partnership with Fort Worth, Denton County, and the state of Texas, will begin operations in an existing hangar by the second quarter of 2025. A second hangar is slated for construction by 2027, signaling Embraer’s commitment to a long-term presence in the region.

This expansion is a testament to the growing demand for Embraer’s E-Jets. With an investment of up to $70 million, the Fort Worth service center will bolster Embraer’s U.S. capacity for E-Jet services by a substantial 53%. Furthermore, it is expected to create approximately 250 new aviation jobs in Texas, contributing to the local economy and bolstering the region’s skilled workforce.

The Fort Worth service center will seamlessly integrate into Embraer’s global network, which currently comprises 80 authorized centers and 12 owned service centers spanning the globe. Embraer’s strategic expansion into Fort Worth reinforces its commitment to providing world-class service and support to its growing customer base.

The new facility has garnered enthusiastic support from local officials. Ross Perot, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Hillwood, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating that the facility will bring 250 high-quality jobs to Fort Worth and North Texas. He highlighted the importance of this development in strengthening the region’s role as a key hub for aerospace innovation while ensuring Embraer can efficiently support its expanding fleet of commercial jets in the U.S.

Denton County Judge Andy Eads echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that the expansion of Embraer’s operations will benefit other aviation companies in the North Texas Region. He also highlighted the positive impact this deal will have on Denton County residents by providing access to well-paying career opportunities.
