Meanwhile, Pune residents are facing a city-wide water shortage on Thursday, October 17, due to critical maintenance and electrical work at several water treatment plants. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) informed residents about the disruption through a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). The post stated that water supply would remain off in most parts of the city on Thursday, with the possibility of late and low-pressure supply on Friday.

The disruption will impact areas supplied by key water treatment centers, including:

* Khadakwasla Water Center (New)
* New and Old Parvati Water Treatment Plants (MLR, HLR, and LLR Tank Premises)
* Lashkar Water Center
* Bhama-Askhed, Vadgaon, and Warje Water Centers

These disruptions, though necessary for maintenance, will cause significant inconvenience to residents in both cities. It is advised to plan accordingly and conserve water to minimize the impact of these scheduled outages.
