ASM Global Bolsters MENA Presence with Appointment of Experienced Events Leader
In a strategic move to strengthen its presence in the dynamic Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, ASM Global, a leading venue management and events company, has announced the appointment of Martin McGougan as its new Regional Director of Business Development.
McGougan brings over two decades of experience in the events industry, having made significant contributions to the growth of the sector both in the Middle East and his native Scotland. His expertise in strategic events management will be invaluable as he embarks on this new role, tasked with identifying and securing new venue management opportunities and supporting ASM Global’s business development teams across the MENA region.
Prior to joining ASM Global, McGougan held a key leadership position at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), a prominent venue in the region. During his decade at ADNEC, he played a pivotal role in contributing to the realization of the UAE’s ambitious Economic Vision 2030. As Head of Sales, he led the exhibition sales team, fostering strategic partnerships with government entities and major international event organizers like Reed, Informa, and DMG.
In his new role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, McGougan will be at the forefront of driving ASM Global’s expansion strategy in the MENA region. His focus will be on growing the company’s portfolio of venues and providing strategic support to Venue General Managers to enhance conference and exhibition activities.
Paul Sergeant OBE, ASM Global’s Executive Vice President for Asia and the MENA Region, expressed his confidence in McGougan’s ability to contribute significantly to the company’s success.
