Tom Holland Launches Non-Alcoholic Beer Brand ‘Bero’ After Sobriety Journey

Tom Holland, the beloved actor known for his portrayal of Spider-Man, has taken on a new venture – launching his own non-alcoholic beer brand called ‘Bero.’ This venture is deeply personal, fueled by Holland’s journey to sobriety, which he publicly announced in July of last year.

Speaking to Forbes, Holland shared that embarking on sobriety led him to explore the world of non-alcoholic beers, a discovery he found particularly fulfilling. “I started exploring the world of non-alcoholic beer after I got sober, and I realized it was perfect for me,” he said. “My first year of sobriety was really tough. I think if Bero had been around, it would have been easier.”

The idea for a non-alcoholic beer brand took root in November 2022, inspired by Holland’s decision to embrace sobriety starting in January of the same year. The catalyst for his decision to abstain from alcohol was a realization of overindulging during the Christmas holidays. “Being a celebrity, I get brand deals all the time, it’s no secret,” he revealed. “But when I got this offer, it was the first time I felt passionate about it.”

Holland collaborated with John Harman, a seasoned beverage developer, to create three distinct flavors: Kingston Golden Pils, Edge Hill Hazy IPA, and Noon Wheat. They poured their hearts into the project, ensuring every aspect reflected Holland’s commitment to quality and his personal connection to the brand.

The Kingston Golden Pilsner, named after Holland’s hometown of Kingston-upon-Thames, offers a fresh interpretation of the classic pilsner style. Edge Hill Hazy IPA, a nod to his alma mater, delivers a tropical burst of flavor with a satisfyingly hoppy finish. Finally, Noon Wheat, named after his beloved dog, boasts a refreshing citrus punch.

Even the packaging design is imbued with personal touches, featuring a trout emblem as a tribute to the renowned fishing spot in Holland’s hometown. This meticulous attention to detail underscores the deep-rooted connection Holland has with his brand.

Adding another layer of heartwarming affirmation to the project, Holland’s girlfriend, Zendaya, who notoriously dislikes beer, gave her stamp of approval. “Zendaya hates beer, she really hates beer,” he shared. “She doesn’t drink it at all. When we did the first tasting, she said, ‘Wow, that’s actually really good.’ I thought, ‘This must be a good sign.’”

The name ‘Bero’ itself is a playful combination of ‘beer’ and ‘oh,’ with the official pronunciation being ‘bee-roh.’ However, Holland encourages everyone to embrace their own interpretation, playfully stating, “Call it whatever you want.”

With a personal touch, a commitment to quality, and a range of flavorful options, Tom Holland’s ‘Bero’ has the potential to become a beloved choice for those seeking a refreshing and responsible alternative to traditional alcoholic beverages.
