About Wawa:

Founded in 1803 as an iron foundry in New Jersey, Wawa has evolved into a beloved convenience store chain. Its journey began with George Wood’s passion for dairy farming, leading to the establishment of a small processing plant in Wawa, PA in 1902. The high quality and cleanliness of their milk products quickly led to success. With the decline of home milk delivery in the early 1960s, Grahame Wood, George’s grandson, opened the first Wawa Food Market in Pennsylvania in 1964. This marked the beginning of the iconic convenience store brand we know today.

Today, Wawa is your go-to destination for freshly prepared foods, beverages, coffee, fuel services, and surcharge-free ATMs. With nearly 1,000 locations across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, Alabama, and Washington, D.C., Wawa continues to grow and expand. Their stores offer a wide selection of fresh food, including their signature custom-prepared hoagies, freshly brewed coffee, hot breakfast sandwiches, hand-crafted specialty beverages, a dinner menu featuring burgers and pizza, and a variety of soups, sides, and snacks.

Wawa’s commitment to customer service and community has earned it recognition as #20 of America’s Largest Private Companies by Forbes.com, #1 in Convenience Category for America’s Best Customer Service by Newsweek, and one of Forbes 2023 America’s Best Employers for Women and New College Grads.

Mark your calendars, Georgia! Wawa’s arrival is just around the corner, bringing with it a unique brand of convenience, fresh food, and community engagement.
