Son of Slain NCP Leader Baba Siddique Vows to Continue Fight for Justice: ‘The Blood of a Lion Runs in My Veins’

Zeeshan Siddique, the son of slain NCP leader Baba Siddique, has vowed to continue his father’s legacy and fight for justice. The Mumbai MLA took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue a defiant statement, asserting that he is ‘ready’ and ‘relentless’ in the face of adversity. His statement comes just hours after the Mumbai Police revealed they discovered his photo on the phone of one of the individuals apprehended for the murder of his father.

“They silenced my father. But they forget – he was a lion—and I carry his roar within me, his fight in my veins. He stood for justice, fought for change and withstood the storms with unwavering courage. Now, those who brought him down turn their sights on me assuming they’ve won, to them I declare: The blood of a lion runs in my veins. I am still here, unafraid and unbroken. They took one, but I rise in his place. This fight is far from over. Today, I stand where he stood: ALIVE, RELENTLESS and READY,” the MLA wrote.

Baba Siddique was tragically shot outside his office in Nirmal Nagar earlier this month. He sustained two gunshot wounds to the chest and was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for emergency treatment. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries on October 12.

The Mumbai Police have made their tenth arrest in connection with the murder, with the crime branch continuing its thorough investigation. In the latest development, a scrap dealer was apprehended from Navi Mumbai for allegedly supplying the weapon to the shooters. He has been remanded to police custody until October 26.

The police have also disclosed that five of the newly apprehended accused had initially demanded ₹ 50 lakh for the killing but later backed out due to disagreements regarding payment and the influential stature of the NCP leader.

The suspected shooters currently in police custody are Gurmail Baljit Singh (23) and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap (19). The main shooter, Shivkumar Gautam, and two other individuals implicated in the murder conspiracy remain at large.
