Hungary Unveils its Charms to Indian Travelers: Visit Hungary Hosts Networking Event in New Delhi

Hungary is making its presence felt in the Indian travel market, aiming to attract more Indian tourists to its enchanting landscapes and vibrant culture. Visit Hungary, the official tourism authority of Hungary, recently hosted a high-profile networking event in New Delhi, specifically targeting leading Indian travel agents and tour operators. This strategic event took place at the Embassy of Hungary and saw the participation of 70 influential guests from the luxury, leisure, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sectors.

The event was kicked off with a welcome address by Lubaina Sheerazi, CEO and co-founder of BRANDit, setting the stage for a productive and engaging networking session. H.E. Mr. István Szabó, Hungary’s Ambassador to India, delivered a powerful keynote speech, emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties with India’s dynamic travel industry.

Ivan Ljubinkovic, Visit Hungary’s Regional Head of Business Development for India, took the stage to present an in-depth overview of the diverse travel opportunities Hungary offers to Indian tourists. His presentation highlighted everything from leisure and MICE travel to the allure of destination weddings and celebrations, showcasing Hungary’s ability to cater to the evolving needs of the Indian market.

Adding to the appeal, Hungarian partners including Marriott International, Kempinski Hotels, Duna Cruises, Corinthia Hotels, Lotus Voyagers Group, MIKI Travel, Up Hotel Budapest, and Dúzsi Tamás Family Winery, presented their unique offerings. These presentations highlighted Hungary’s vast potential as a top destination for Indian travelers, emphasizing its appeal for luxury experiences and special events.

The evening culminated in a networking dinner, providing attendees with an excellent opportunity to explore potential partnerships and discuss strategies for elevating Hungary’s profile as a premier travel destination.

In addition to this successful event, the Visit Hungary team embarked on a sales mission to two major Indian cities, Mumbai and Delhi. They engaged with key players in the travel industry, including MICE operators, representatives from the Delhi Airport Authority, Indian airlines, corporate stakeholders, and online travel agencies (OTAs). These efforts further solidified the progress made over the past year in strengthening the ties between Hungary and India’s travel sector.
