A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Rajasthan during the festive celebration of Karwa Chauth, leaving behind a tale of grief and despair. The incident, which occurred in the Harmara area on Sunday, involved a couple, Ghanshyam Bunkar (38) and Mona (35), whose lives were tragically cut short by suicide after a heated argument.
Ghanshyam, who worked in the private sector, came home late on the night of Karwa Chauth, sparking a verbal confrontation with his wife. Enraged by his late return, Mona stormed out of their home around 12:30 am. Ghanshyam, unable to bear the thought of losing his wife, followed her. In a tragic turn of events, Mona, consumed by her anger, made the devastating decision to jump in front of a moving train.
Shocked and heartbroken by the loss of his wife, Ghanshyam returned home, where their two children were asleep in a separate room. Unable to cope with the immense pain, he chose to end his own life by hanging himself. Before taking his own life, Ghanshyam sent a chilling message to his brother on WhatsApp, informing him of Mona’s suicide.
The Harmara SHO, Uday Bhan, confirmed the incident and stated that the bodies of the deceased couple were sent for postmortem. The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving behind a void filled with sorrow and grief.
Karwa Chauth, a significant festival celebrated by Hindu women in Northern and Western India, holds deep cultural and religious significance.
