Kshatriya Karni Sena Offers ₹1.11 Crore Bounty for Lawrence Bishnoi’s ‘Encounter’

In a shocking development, the Kshatriya Karni Sena (KKS) has announced a ₹1.11 crore bounty for any police officer who kills jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in an encounter. This controversial announcement comes in the wake of the assassination of the KKS’s former chief, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, in Jaipur on December 5, 2023. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for the killing.

KKS national president Raj Shekhawat made the announcement in a video, stating that the reward is for the “safety and security” of any security personnel who carries out an encounter against Bishnoi. He further blamed the central and Gujarat governments for the “menace” of Bishnoi, claiming that he “killed our precious gem and heritage Amar Shaheed Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi ji.”

Bishnoi, currently incarcerated in Gujarat’s Sabarmati jail, is facing charges in a cross-border smuggling case. He is also allegedly involved in the plot to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan and the firing outside his residence in April 2024.

The KKS’s announcement has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation, with concerns raised about the potential for extrajudicial killings. The offer of a reward for the death of a prisoner in police custody raises serious ethical and legal questions. Experts argue that such actions could undermine the rule of law and encourage vigilante justice.

The authorities are currently investigating the KKS’s announcement and its implications. The situation remains highly volatile and it is crucial to monitor further developments in the case.
