The initial reports, published by The Hill on Monday, stated that during an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Cuban said that Harris’s campaign rejected the idea of an interview on X, formerly Twitter, with Musk. In response to Cuban’s comments on CNBC, Musk expressed interest in conducting the interview, stating, “I’m happy to have a live discussion, so there can’t be any ‘distortion’ 🤭 That would be so awesome. Please can we do this 🙏. Pretty please.”
However, following the publication of the report, Cuban took to social media to clarify his statement. He emphasized that he never proposed a public interview, but instead, suggested a private conversation. “I asked if they wanted to have a discussion. Not an interview,” Cuban stated. In a separate post, he shared the news article and reiterated his statement, saying, “That is not what I said. I said that I asked them if they would be interested in talking to Elon. They said they would, but they didn’t trust him not to disclose on X, what was said.”
