India Makes Strong Start at World Bridge Games in Buenos Aires

The Indian bridge teams have kicked off their campaign at the 16th World Bridge Games, also known as the Bridge Olympiad, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a promising start. As the competition unfolded on day one, the Indian open team secured a commendable 12th place out of 34 teams, demonstrating their prowess on the international stage.

The Indian women’s team, showcasing their talent and determination, claimed the 15th position out of 24 teams, while the mixed team made a strong impression by securing fifth place out of 29 teams. In a particularly impressive performance, the India senior team took the lead in their category, showcasing their experience and strategic acumen.

This first stage of the competition features an all-play-all-round-robin format, where each participating nation sends a single team in each of the four categories: open, women, mixed, and seniors. The open section, comprised of 34 teams, is divided into two groups of 17 teams each, setting the stage for intense competition among the world’s best bridge players.
