Aeromexico and Delta Expand U.S.-Mexico Connectivity with New Phoenix Route

Aeromexico and Delta are further solidifying their position as the leading airlines connecting the United States and Mexico with the announcement of a new route addition. Starting March 30, 2025, a daily service will connect Mexico City International Airport (MEX) to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) in Arizona, providing over 2,300 round-trip seats each week.

This new route is set to provide more convenient travel options for passengers traveling between the two countries. Phoenix, a vibrant hub in the heart of Arizona, caters to both business and leisure travelers. The addition of this route offers seamless connections to Aeromexico’s extensive domestic network, with 55 routes across Mexico.

“This alliance solidifies Aeromexico and Delta as the airlines with the best connectivity between the United States and Mexico. By the end of 2024, we will jointly operate 80 routes, with more than 135 daily flights between both regions. We are excited that Arizona’s capital city will join this expansion; the city is a great destination for both business and leisure,” said Jeff Morgan, Aeromexico’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Scheduling.

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego enthusiastically welcomed the new service, stating, “We are excited to welcome Aeromexico back to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to serve this crucial market. The demand for flights to Mexico from Phoenix has grown by 155% compared to pre-pandemic levels. Aeromexico’s nonstop service to Mexico City will improve travel options for our community as well as strengthen tourism and trade between our close-knit regions.”

Beyond the convenience of increased flight options, Phoenix offers a captivating array of experiences for travelers. Known as the Valley of the Sun, the city basks in year-round sunshine and stunning desert landscapes. Whether seeking adventure, cultural immersion, or luxurious relaxation, Phoenix caters to diverse interests with attractions like vineyards, historic Western ghost towns, renowned golf courses, and top-tier spas. Its proximity to the iconic Grand Canyon National Park makes it a gateway for nature enthusiasts seeking breathtaking views and outdoor adventures.

Aeromexico will operate this new route using its modern Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, ensuring a comfortable journey. Passengers can enjoy enhanced legroom, 50% larger overhead storage, and high-speed Wi-Fi for a seamless and enjoyable travel experience.

This new route is a testament to the strength of the Aeromexico-Delta alliance, which has introduced over 28 new routes in 2024, connecting key cities across Mexico and the United States. This collaboration delivers a consistent and high-quality customer experience, making travel between these regions more convenient and accessible than ever before.
