Trump and Harris in Dead Heat as Election Day Looms: Undecided Jewish Voters Could Swing Key States

The 2024 presidential election is heating up, with a new poll revealing a dead heat between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. The New York Times/Siena College survey, conducted between October 20 and 23, polled 2,516 likely voters nationwide and found both candidates tied with 48% of the popular vote. This comes after Harris held a narrow lead over Trump in early October.

The poll also sheds light on the key issues driving voters’ decisions. The economy, including jobs and the stock market, emerged as the most important issue for 27% of voters. Abortion and immigration followed closely behind, each garnering 15% of voter concerns. When asked about who would best handle the economy, voters favored Trump by 6%, a decrease from his 13-point advantage over Harris in the previous poll.

Former Florida Representative Peter Deutsch, appearing on ‘Fox & Friends First,’ highlighted the importance of undecided Jewish voters in swing states. These voters, he suggested, could significantly impact the election’s outcome.

While Harris maintains a 16% lead over Trump in terms of protecting abortion access, Trump holds an 11% advantage on immigration.

President Biden’s approval ratings remain low, with only 40% of respondents expressing strong or somewhat approval of his performance in the Oval Office. Additionally, concerns regarding the age of both candidates persist. While Biden’s age was a significant concern earlier this year, the poll found that 41% of voters believe Trump, at 78 years old, is too old to be an effective president.

This election is shaping up to be a close race, with undecided voters and key issues potentially determining the winner. The upcoming weeks will be crucial in observing the shifting dynamics and the potential impact of these factors on the final results.
