Mumbai Airport Brings Back ‘Pawfect’ Initiative: Furry Friends to Ease Travel Stress

Get ready to be greeted by some furry friends at Mumbai Airport! The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has brought back its popular ‘Pawfect’ initiative, a program designed to ease travel stress and create a more enjoyable airport experience for passengers.

The ‘Pawfect’ initiative features trained emotional support dogs, lovingly dubbed ‘ambassadors of happiness’, who are trained to sense and respond to travelers’ moods. These furry companions are ready to provide comfort and create a more relaxed atmosphere at the airport. Mumbai Airport boasts being the only airport in India to offer such a unique service.

The airport’s team of nine emotional support dogs, including a Golden Retriever, a Maltese, a rescued Husky, Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso, and Labrador, are ready to greet passengers every Friday to Sunday, between 3pm and 11 pm. These lovable companions can be found in Terminal 2, and the service is provided free of charge to all passengers.

The ‘Pawfect’ program was initially launched before the pandemic but was suspended during the COVID-19 outbreak. The airport management anticipates that the program will encourage social interactions among travellers, as passengers frequently share stories about their own pets while waiting for their flights. The initiative aims to make the airport experience more enjoyable for passengers, creating a positive environment with the help of these delightful furry friends.

So, if you’re flying through Mumbai Airport on a weekend, keep an eye out for these furry ambassadors of happiness. They’re sure to bring a smile to your face and make your travel experience a little more enjoyable!
